Though I love wildlife and the challenges that come with trying to get their photo, birds were never at the top of my list nor were they something I paid much attention.
And then I learned just how many species of birds there are in Montana. Sure there’s the raptors we all know and love. But they’re overrated compared to some of the beautiful (and occasionally grumpy) birds we have in the state.
So here’s a collection of twelve birds (no partridges in a pear trees or geese laying eggs) that I found interesting in my quest to take as many photos of as many species of birds I could this year.
