Chameleons do in fact change their color but it’s less about their surrounding environment and more about their emotional state. When angry or agitated, they’ll turn dark, dark green, almost black. At night, they’ll be an almost neon green because they’re a little colder. During the day, they’ll be the deep green color as in the photo. Quite an intriguing looking animal.
